Mike’s experience in the real estate industry spans across 19 years and has evolved over those years to encompass a wide array of knowledge of the industry. Since he started in the business in 2001 his experience has expanded exponentially and he has built his grown his Long & Foster office to become one of the top-producing real estate groups in the region. His success is based upon a groundwork of determination for continued achievements which have allowed his career to cover a vast spectrum of facets of the real estate industry.
Real estate sales experience:
His career started with real estate sales. Mike put a detailed business plan into effect complete with goals, budgets and innovative marketing plans as well as systems for data management, transaction management, and customer service. Those systems, combined with his determination, allowed him to succeed from the beginning of his career. His efforts did not go unnoticed, as his real estate sales success has been featured on HGTV’s ‘House Hunters’ series and featured by the National Association of Realtors as one of the top 30 Realtors in the nation under 30 years of age. Articles have been written about Mike's carrier in real estate in The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today, The Baltimore Sun, Realtor Magazine and countless local and regional publications. Mike’s success in real estate sales is the direct effect of hard work and a genuine care for his customers. His facilitation of thousands of real estate transactions gives him a unique insight and the ability to foresee and quickly navigate the many challenges that can arise during a real estate transaction.
Real estate business and office management:
In 2007 Mike began integrating other agents into his business plan, building a team of professionals focused on providing exceptional customer service. This new business structure allowed Mike to share his real estate success with like-minded colleagues and gave him the ability to also focus on other facets of the real estate industry. In 2013 Mike founded the Premier Group of Long & Foster Real Estate and Christies International Real Estate. This quickly allowed him to cultivate a large-scale organization of team members united by infrastructure and administrative support that is so uncommon in the real estate industry. These tools have allowed the Premier Group to grow rapidly while maintaining the highest standards of client satisfaction. In 2016 the Premier Group was the 2nd highest producing real estate group in the state of MD with the largest independently owned real estate brokerage in the US and they have only continued to grow.
New homes and community marketing:
Over the years Mike has worked closely with a variety of home builders to find development opportunities, produce floor plans and outline successful marketing strategies. Mike has managed sales for more than a dozen communities ranging in size, price and location. His insight in the process allows him to fill the gaps for builders and developers where they need help without charging for the services they already have. This has allowed Mike and members of his team to integrate seamlessly with their builder and developer clients. They have established a proven record of success in the arena of real estate sales, making them unique in the general brokerage world.
New construction logistics:
Working closely with home builders gave Mike a unique position of seeing both the construction side and the sales side of new home construction. For builders constituting less than 100 homes per year, transparency of information between the builder’s sales and construction team as always been a problem.
After observing the industry-wide inefficiencies, Mike partnered with an acclaimed designer to find a solution. In 2015 Builders National Cooperative (BNC) was formed.
Builders National Cooperative "BNC" provides home builders and real estate developers outsourced plans and operations services. With BNC you can have all the tools and systems a large home builder has without spending years and hundreds of thousands of dollars to develop them. This includes creation of production-structurally engineered plans, procurement of all individual costs for each component used in every plan, entry of all collected data into production builder software and development of a full scope of work for each trade. BNC is now expanding into new markets and its builders are currently delivering a new home every few days. This amounts to be around a $20-million-dollar construction budget at any given time with less than a ½% variance. Becoming a new home builder:
With this experience Mike decided to try his hand at building. He purchased a building lot in Walkersville MD in 2017 and constructed his first home. The home sold within a week and Mike continued to repeat the process. After having gained more hands-on experience Mike decided to offer these services to customers so they could build homes with him on a lot of their choice. On 2019 Mike founded Laine Street Homes. With modern open house plans and easy to understand prices, clients can quickly and easily chose selections online- making the process of building a new home seamless and transparent. In addition, the collective volume and efficiencies achieved through BNC allow Laine Street Home to pay less for all the products and services than independent small builders. These savings are passed along to the home buyer making this a win for everyone.
