Arbutus is in Baltimore County, Maryland with a population of approximately 20,000. It is roughly 7 square miles and is mostly known for the B & O railroad Museum.
Arbutus was name after the plethora of sprawling Arbutus flowers that once covered the area. Springs of sulfur water gave the main road the name Sulphur Spring Road. At the time, water from these springs was thought to have great medicinal value and a factor in the plentiful Arbutus flowers.
